NLSIU – National Law School of India University Admission

National Law School of India University (NLSIU) is a publicly-owned national law university offering quality education at a higher level. It was established under the National Law School of India Act (Karnataka Act 22 of 1986), notified in the official Gazette in 1987. NLSIU was among the first institutions in India to introduce the five-year integrated law degree programme at the undergraduate level in 1988. The university holds recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Bar Council of India (BCI). NLSIU is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIUand holds an ‘A Grade’ accreditation from NAAC.

Application Process

  • Candidates are required to submit the application along with the research proposal of about 10 to 12 pages.
    Candidates can download the application form from the university website.
  • Candidates will have to pay an application fee of INR 3000.
  • After the submission of the application, candidates are required to appear for the Admission test. The test will consist of the following:
  • Objective type questions on Research Aptitude: 50 marks.
  • Contemporary development in the field of law and society: 50 marks.
  • Specific questions in Law/ MBL/ MPP/ other disciplines: 50 marks.
  • Candidates that are successful in the written test will be required to make an oral presentation in front of a panel of experts.

Candidates have to download the online application form from the university website.
Application form should be submitted along with a research proposal of 10 to 12 pages.
Candidates also have to pay an application fee.
After the submission of the application form, candidates will have to appear for an Admission Test.
Candidates who secure 50% or more in the test will qualify for an oral presentation in front of a panel of experts.
