The Government College of Engineering, Kannur is a state-sponsored engineering college affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala, India. The college was started in October 1986, as a center for imparting engineering education in northern Kerala. It began in the Town High School, Kannur Campus. Education aims to provide the right environment to grow beyond academics, to master theory, yet provide a platform for applications that will help both the student and teacher move towards more concrete goals. Government College of Engineering, Kannur is one of the premier institutes among the 9 Government Engineering Colleges in Kerala. The college has 2 hostels for boys and 3 for girls and enough number of quarters for accommodating staff. The college has an active training and placement cell for campus recruitment and imparts necessary counselling to the students.
