1. M.Sc FORESTRY: Bachelor’s degree in Science with at least one of the subject namely Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry.
2. M.Sc WOOD SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY: Bachelor’s degree with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or B.Sc. degree in Forestry.
3. M.Sc ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT: Three years Bachelor’s degree in any branch of basic or applied Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or Agriculture or BE in Environment Science.
4. M.Sc. CELLULOSE & PAPER TECHNOLOGY: Three years Bachelors’ Degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the subject, BE/ B.Tech. (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering).
5. Ph.D.: Master degree in Forestry/Agriculture/Botany with 55% (50% for SC/ST/PWD), On the basis of merit in Entrance Test conducted by FRI. UGC NET/ GATE/ CSIR NET qualified candidates are also eligible to apply

Forest Research Institute (FRI) Admission Exam Pattern

• Mode- The test will be conducted in online mode (remote proctored).
• Duration- The test is going to last for a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
• Type of Questions- Multiple-choice questions are asked in FRI Ph.D Entrance test 2021.
• Number of Sections- There are 2 sections in the paper.
• Marking Scheme- Each correct answer adds 1 mark to the total while no mark is deducted for wrong answers.
