Delhi University is one of the most famous universities in India. It was established in 1922. It provides a plethora of UG, PG, doctoral, and certificate courses like BA, B.Ed, B.Sc, MBA, and LLM, among others. In addition, DU also offers various skill-based courses. At DU, admissions for all the UG courses are now based on CUET, and applicants must clear DUET for the PG courses. The University of Delhi will release the eligibility criteria for Delhi University admission 2022 along with the notification via online mode. Candidates must ensure they have fulfilled the prescribed eligibility criteria for DU admission 2024. DU eligibility criteria are based on the following requirements – educational qualification and minimum marks. Candidates willing to apply for admission are advised to check eligibility criteria to avoid rejection at any later stage.

  • Age Limit – The authorities have not set any age limit to apply for undergraduate programmes.
  • Nationality – Candidates should be of Indian citizenship

Delhi University Eligibility Criteria

DU UG Eligibility Criteria

B.tech :(Bachelor of Technology)

  •  Candidates must have passed or appeared in the 12th level or its equivalent level examination from any recognized board.
  •  The candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in their qualifying examination.

BBA :(Bachelor of Business Administration):

Candidates must appear in CUET in the following subject combination: Any one Language from List A + Mathematics + SECTION III of CUET (General Test)

 B.Voc. (Web Designing)

  • Candidates must appear in CUET in any of the following subject combinations:

BCom :(Bachelor of Commerce):

  •  Candidates must have passed or appeared in the 12th level or its equivalent level examination from any recognized board.

B.A (Hons) Multi-Media and Mass Communication:

  • Qualification: Candidates must pass 10th and 12th class or equivalent from any recognized board.
    Marks: Candidates must secure a minimum of 75% marks within the best of four subjects and 85% marks in English subject.
    B.sc :(Bachelor of Science):
  • 12th passed/appearing with at least 45% aggregate marks (The aggregate marks will be determined on the basis of one language and three best subjects).

Bachelor of Business Economics [BBE]

  • Candidates must appear in CUET in the following subject combination:

BA :(Bachelor of Arts): 

  • Candidate should have passed/appearing 12th examination by securing 60% in four papers including English, Mathematics and other two subjects from the list of elective subjects as approved by the University of Delhi (55% for SC, ST, CW and PwD categories).
  • Candidates applying for improvement in 2024 shall not be eligible for admission.

Multi-Media and Mass Communication

  • Candidates must appear in CUET in the following subject combination:
  • Anyone Language from List A + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 + SECTION III of CUET (General Test)

B.Ed:(Bachelor of Education):

  • 12th passed/appearing with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

BCA :(Bachelor of Computer Application):

  • Candidate should have passed/appearing 12th examination by securing 60% in four papers including English, Mathematics and other two subjects from the list of elective subjects as approved by the University of Delhi (55% for SC, ST, CW and PwD categories).

DU PG Eligibility Criteria

M.tech: (Master of Technology):

  • Applying candidates will require B.Tech/ B.E. or its equivalent degree from any recognized institution.
  • The candidates will require at least 60% marks (54% for OBC and 40% for SC/ ST) in their qualifying degree to be eligible for admission.

MCom :(Master of Commerce):

  •  Candidates must have passed B.A, BBA, B.Com, or its equivalent examination from any recognized institution.
  •  Candidates must have scored at least 50% marks (45% for OBC, 40% for SC/ ST) in their qualifying examination.

LLM Eligibility Criteria :

  • Candidates must have an LLB degree of either 3 or 5 years from any recognized institute.
  • They must have secured at least 50% marks (45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ ST) in their qualifying examination to be eligible.

M.sc :(Master of Science):

  • Relevant UG degree with 60% aggregate

MA :(Master of Arts):

  • Candidate should have a degree in required subjects in the qualifying examination from Delhi University or any other state-affiliated university.
  • For the general category students, the percentage would be 50% minimum. For the OBC and PWD candidates, it would be 45%.

B.EL.ED Eligibility Criteria :

  • B.EL.ED: The candidate must pass the intermediate examination from any recognized university and score 50% marks in their examination.

M.Ed:(Master of Education):

  • 50% marks in B.Ed or equivalent degree

LLB Eligibility Criteria

  • UG/ PG degree with 50% aggregate

MBA/ PGDM Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate is required to qualify bachelor’s degree with a 50% aggregate
  • The accepted exam is CAT

MCA :(Master of Computer Application):

  • Bachelor’s degree with the 10+2+3 scheme with at least one paper in mathematical science.

PhD Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate is required to qualify M.Com/ M.Phil/ MBA/ MIB/ MHROD/ MFC/ MBA [IB]/ MBA [HRD] with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • The candidate must clear the DUET conducted by the university.

DU Admission Preparation Tips 2024

Here are some DU preparation tips 2024 for candidates to help in the examination:

  • Prepare a timetable and divide time equally for all subjects.
  • Check out the prescribed syllabus for the examination.
  • Take help from the best book and study materials available online.
  • Practice previous year’s question papers and sample papers.
  • Include every single topic of the syllabus in your preparation.
  • Don’t take the stress and take care of your health.

Admission Process for UG & PG (Entrance based) Courses:

  • After the result announcement, admission (merit) list will be published through online mode.
  • The allotment of seats in admission list will be be done as per the rank and availability of seats in colleges.
  • Candidates who have allotted seats through the admission list will be required to take printout of the admission form.
  • Candidates should report to the allotted college with the required documents for verification process.
  • After the verification process, admission can be approved by the respective college.
  • After that, candidates have to pay the admission fee through the online admission portal.
  • Candidates who do not report to the allotted college on the prescribed timing they can not be considered for further admission rounds.
