The University of Calcutta is a collegiate public state research university located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was established on 24 January 1857 and is the first multidisciplinary and Western-style institutions in Asia. Today, the university’s jurisdiction is limited to a few districts of West Bengal. The Court of Directors of the East India Company sent a despatch in July, 1854 to the Governor-General of India in Council, suggesting the establishment of the Universities of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay.

The University of Calcutta has a history of over 164 years, as this was established on 24 January 1857. The Kolkata-based University has been awarded grade “A” by NAAC and offers ug and pg level courses. MA, M.Com, and other PG level courses grant only based on qualifying exam marks. Aspirants must clear MAT, CAT, or some other MBA course entrance exam to gain admission into MBA. Calcutta University 2024 Merit List/ Result

Calcutta University 2024 Merit List will be published via online mode in last week of July 2024. To check result or merit list, candidates will have to use their login credentials such as user ID & password. Admission will be offered on the basis of merit list. Candidates will also have to carry their original & mandatory documents as admission will be offer only after verification of documents. Therefore, admission will be cancelled if they fail to verify documents.

Counselling:

The counselling session will be arranged immediately after the entrance result for selected courses are announced. The counselling session tentatively will take place in August 2024. Candidates need to carry original as well as Xerox copies of all their academic records including their entrance scorecard in the counselling round.
