Banaras Hindu University (BHU) PhD Admission 2024 is offered on the basis of Research Entrance Test (RET) conducted by the university. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for BHU RET 2024 on the official site of BHU and the exam is expected to take place in October 2024. BHU PhD Admission 2024
All admissions to PhD programmes at Banaras Hindu University will be through a national level Research Eligibility Test (RET). So as to identify the scholastic capabilities and aptitude for research, there are three levels of this test as mentioned below:
- Test A: To assess Logical and Analytical Capability
- Test B: To assess Subject Knowledge Test
- Test C: Research proposal and Personal Interview to test aptitude for research
Tests A and B take place on a single day at multiple centres across the country while Test C will take place at BHU in the concerned Department/School/Centre. Candidates who are exempted from appearing for Tests A and B (RET-exempt category), but would be required to qualify the Test C to become eligible for registration for PhD.

| Arts | A Master’s degree in the concerned subject with a minimum of 55% aggregate or equivalent grade point in the qualifying exam. |
| Performing Arts Dance | A Master’s degree any one of the allied subjects with at least 55% aggregate or equivalent grade point in the qualifying exam. |
| Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vijnan | Acharya degree in the relevant subject OR Acharya or equivalent degree in any one of the allied subjects with at least 55% aggregate or equivalent grade point in the qualifying exam. |
| Commerce | A pass in one of the Master’s degrees with at least 55% in aggregate or equivalent grade point average in the qualifying exam among MCom, MFC, MFM, MRIM, MFMRI, MFT, MBM, MBA OR in allied areas. |
| Management Studies | A pass in one of the Master’s degrees with at least 55% in aggregate or equivalent grade point average in the qualifying examination among MBM, MMS, MBA, International Business Administration (MIBA), International Business (MIB), MBA (Agri-Business). |

BHU Univ M.Phil PHD Entrance Exam Admit Card 2024
The Banaras Hindu University is going to conducting the M.Phil and PHD Entrance Test soon and Entrance Exam Admit Card will be soon as soon update on official website. After release the BHU Univ M.Phil and PHD Entrance Exam Hall Ticket will be updated soon on official website.
Step 1: Visit the official website of BHU at http://bhuonline.in/.
Step 2: On the homepage, candidates will find a link to download the hall ticket. They need to click on the same.
Step 3: Next, submit all required details like email ID or registration ID.
Step 4: Admit card will be displayed on the screen.
Step 5: Download the admit card and get a print out of it for future use.
Candidates will be able to check the details like their registration number, roll number, date and time of the test, centre, etc. on the admit card. All the applicants must carry their admit card to the exam centre. They also need to take a valid Photo proof like Aadhar card, PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, etc. along with them to the examination centre.
BHU RET Exam Pattern
- Exam Mode:Written (Pen and Paper based)
- Maximum number of questions:100 questions
- Duration of the exam:Two hours for test A and 30 minutes for test B
- Total number of paper:Two i.e. paper A and paper B
- Language:Hindi/English
- Maximum marks:Test A will be of 300 marks and test B will be of 50 marks
- Marking scheme:3 marks will be awarded for marking the right answer
- Negative marking:1 mark will be deducted in case of marking the wrong answer
