Okay say I want the Apex winch. I use 10% off. But I pay off the card the first payment?
good job on investing the card more btw i thought that interest rate was illegal i5 seems their gig is to target those at the registers when most of us are not going to stand there and read through all of the bs they make it a impulse thing for obvious reasons my first wife and I fell victims to a similar scam when we first went out to buy expensive furniture and electronics we were in one early 20s and it took us years to get away from those crooks
The last thing I need is another credit card, but I got suckered at the counter. She said that I would get a 5% off on all future purchases. I thought that meant at the register, like what Lowes does. I would never have taken that hard hit on the credit inquiry if I knew I’d have to play around with reward points and other crap, that I don’t care to understand.
My account told me many years ago that credit cards are like loan sharking. She said that that 20 to 30 percent is compounded monthly those kind of rates are insane and should be stopped by the government. With the legislators being bought and paid for by banks and big business, that is highly unlikely. The only thing law makers have done is prevent you from bankrupting your credit card debt. Pay your card off monthly. Deadbeat is the term they have to describe someone who pays the entire amount monthly.
I 100% agree. Im about 3 months into my first job as a tech at a dealership and i bought the US General cart right off the bat but am looking for a bigger tool box and i believe i will wait for this credit line to hit ohio to do so. I also wanna add im in a community college and im in the snap on student excellence program and there is select snap on boxes that have the discount. The 56in is still 2000 with the discount and the 72in US General is 1000…. You do the math. Ive been around both and the quality doesn’t differ enough to justify the price in my opinion. Appreciate you Justin.
I work as a machinist in a tool and die shop. Although it’s not the same field as you Justin, we do end up using a lot of the same generic tools. I strongly agree with you about researching the tools you will need for any field you end up in. Not everything needs to be the top name brand, “made in Swiss” or “made in USA” or whatever. I know when I first started I got to see what other were using on all different applications of the job, and from there I chose what I did or didn’t spend a lot of money on. I have a lot of tools that I call “beater” tools from HF, these are tools that I don’t mind buying again from there if they break or something because they were cheap in price. Actually a lot of those “beaters” I still have and are still in excellent condition. I use the hell out of them! Definitely wish I had the credit line in my area at the time I went out buying because that 0% interest for a certain amount of years I’m really digging. Could’ve gone out and gotten at least 85% of the tools I needed when I first started.
Question, did you keep that gearwrench 243 mechanics tool set from one of your previous ? If so, how’s it holding up? Seemed like a nice set when you showed us in your video. I’m just a shade tree mechanic but I wouldn’t mind splurging on that set.
I’m literally blown away that they would give such a deal……… Awesome.
Great JD! I’m not in California so when I asked at HF today about the credit I got the “I dunno” look. Do you know if you can pay the balance off early? You indicated there was a minimum payment so I hope that an early pay off is an option. They have so much great stuff now I could see the 3 year plan pretty easy. I just don’t like carrying a balance any longer than I have to if I can afford to pay it all off. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Awesome articel brotha making your point based on facts that’s what it’s all about keep bringing the truth no matter what and I’ll keep smashing the like button
The reality is the vast majority of folks do NOT pay off their debts before the interest strikes. That is a proven fact. Put yourself on a payment schedule that includes principal and pay it off 2 months prior to the final zero percent payment time frame. 👍
Justin, this was a Damn Good Very Well Explained Video For Any New Beginner To The Most Experienced Mechanics Anywhere, To help guide them in The Right Direction on The Best Ways To Buying Tools and Hopefully Gaining Some Good Credit Rating From it!!!!!👍👍👍👍💲💲💲💲
Excellent job explaining the credit offer. Don’t forget about the rest of the people who aren’t mechanics. Lot’s of GIY guys, woodworkers. I’m hoping to get a decent air compressor, those auto coil hose and ckrd reels. Thanks again, Rodney
Great info for young guys. I got into the business 27 yrs ago with a small mess of craftsman tools. I spent about $700 dollars. After a few years I upgraded to a kobalt box. After 20yrs I finally bought a snap on box. I paid cash for it and got the box at a 48% discount because it was in the truck for months. My dealer could not sell it due to the high cost. Lucky for me I was in the market at the right time. Point is you can make money with hand tools and a 5 gallon bucket. You dont need a date with the rap
I’m not a professional mechanic, but I like Snap-On Tools and have been buying them for decades. I generally buy used Snap-On tools that are like new but at a much lower price. I always pay cash and am shocked that professional mechanics rack up huge credit bills on high priced Snap-On Tools. It is so bad that Snap-On has raffled expensive tool boxes in each of their districts. To enter all you have to do is pay every one of your monthly payments on time. I got a brand new Snap-On KRL7
Cannot express enough the respect I have for all veterans. My dad did 22 years in the USAF. I retired after 25 years as a police officer and always showed the utmost respect for any veterans I came in contact with. You are the reason for our freedom.
Love and prayers to ALL vets, and active duty servicemen and women throughout the world. Thank you for your service. WE owe YOU!
Was in the army for 21 years retired 15 years ago. And it changed my life very much. Thank you to all the veterans out there and you to Dutch
Happy Veterans Day! My husband is also a Veteran and we appreciate your service! ☺️💙🙏🏻
My husband and I both believe it would be good for young people to experience the structure of the military! Yes for sure!
I have just discovered your channel. As a fellow vet myself, four years in the Navy during the Vietnam era, l agree with everything you said about a stint in our military should be mandatory for graduating high school seniors. It teaches one respect for our country and what it means to be an American. May God bless you brother and your family.
This year more than ever I noticed that many, many stores honored veterans with discounts not just on Veterans Day, but for the entire week. I’m not a veteran but I believe veterans should receive a discount at every store, every day of the year.
Glad to hear that farm store honored your service. Wish we all could do more for you and your family. We are free because of all who have taken that oath. God bless you sir 🇺🇸
h! Thank you for your service and sacrifices! My Dad retired from the Navy, but spent a lot of years with the Marines. He was a Corpsman. He had many friends from both. So I appreciate y’all even more. Especially these days. I love your show. I think you’re right about service and it being in your DNA. Alot in my family. I just wanted to say thank you and God Bless You and Keep You Safe and Well. 🇺🇸
I absolutely believe it would be absolutely awesome for everyone to have to serve 2 years rt after high school!!! Most of the time they don’t know what they want to do with their lives anyway! And I agree wholeheartedly with you that it’s becoming a “soft” nation, one that could really use to learn the value of a hard days work!!! Thank you very much for your service!!!
Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸 I just recently discovered Tractor Supply 🚜 now I’m even more glad I did! BTW – My dad, USNRet finished his service in Camp Pendleton, in 1980! He did 3 tours in Nam. Now, all these years later, my 2 son’s are/were 82nd Airborne & did a combined 14 tours in Iraq 🇮🇶 & Afghanistan. This makes me a Military Brat & Military Mom. Love you guys!! 💜
