  1. Dutch, thank you for your service. My uncle was in the Army during the Korean War. I remember, as a child, hearing casualty reports on the radio during the Korean War. Many of the guys I went to high school with, were drafted and sent to Vietnam where many of them died. So many have made the supreme sacrifice to ensure our freedom. So I do appreciate their military service. My dad served in the Three C’s.

  2. I’m Glad that your animals are doing so well. Happy, healthy livestock are so important…and a blessing when a person is trying to have a farm/ranch …..large and small.
A hog trough does help when feeding your pigs, as well as a long feeding bin for the chickens.
You and your family be blessed and encouraged.

  3. I’m in my 50’s and yes I think that’s one of the biggest mistake I made was not going in this Service right out of high school. And yes I do agree with you it needs to be mandatory to go at least four years military of some kind I’ve watched so many people go in one person and come out a better person.

  4. that would be a tremendous idea. My daughter served as corpsman in Navy 6 years. she graduated college with a science degree and now heads up a department with the EPA. she was a cheerleader and sports trainer in high school. She said she was very happy she did. Also a tiny homecoming queen. She ran a clinic in Iceland also.

  5. Thanks to you and all Vets for your service in protecting our freedom! You guys and gals are America’s true Heros!

  7. Serving two years would be an awesome idea, might even help them determine which bathroom to use!

  8. We have three Roosters as well (unexpectedly) but they are good together. We did lose 2 a month back. But we are down to 23 layers. Love how healthy your pigs look. Thank you for sharing and Serving. what a blessing! Such a sweet gesture from our Tractor Supply, they are like family to us.

  9. Thank you for stepping up, not being selfish and putting your life on the line for our freedom! God Bless You and your family!

  10. My daughter goes for basic training in the marines in 2 days, im so proud of her and I tried to enlist during the first gulf War when I was 19 but was medically ineligible from a car accident leaving me with a steel plate in my face, a plastic eye socket with steel and fiberglass in my nose, oh yeah and permanent pins in my jaw. I thank every veteran I can for all my freedoms that they sacrificed to give me and in some ways always feel ashamed I didn’t serve, I wish all businesses gave a veteran a break like tractor supply does, may God bless all veterans and currently enlisted, vets never get enough credit and many are blind to the sacrifice those who fought and died for the blessings of liberty they’ve provided

  11. Happy Veterans Day! I think serving 2 years in the military right out of high school is what our country needs! You are absolutrly right! My dad served in the Coast Guard for 20 years.

  18. drafted into the Army at 21 years old. I was the OLD guy in basic along with the 18 & 19 yr olds. To me serving (even in Viet Nam) was a great honor.
Yesterday my aid wished me a THANK YOU FOR SERVING and I felt a twinge of pride after all the years passing. because she said it out of the blue & she meant it. Not all the young people are lost & not caring. she made my day.
