Many thanks. I did not know most of the ‘fine print’ things that you covered, especially the forfeit of the 10% off and that the balance was due in full on the first billing date. I could be OK in some situations but the buyer should surely be aware of what he/she is getting into. Very helpful.
Thanks again Brad for the help and support you give us all. A lot of people won’t read the fine print you pointed out. Have a good great weekend my Friend ☺️😊 Rodney
Yo Brad! This is a fantastic vid!!! It is great that your went through the fine print and called out the B.S.. what a scumbag move to be able to take your
rewards away for any reason. This is why I dont mess with credit cards. Never had one and never will. Have a wonderful weekend bro!
I went into the HF store in Terrell, Tx and was approved on 8-4-2020 for $800. I got that wood chipper I’ve been needing and took advantage of to 12 months no interest. At $65 a month it will be easy to have it paid off then I’ll go get more stuff!
When the bauer planer came up discounted for members this month I decided to apply to get the extra 10% discount. Final price was still more than about a year ago but 283 is still better than 359 and I can’t justify dewalt right now. Anyway, applying for the card dinged my credit 18 pts! I plan to pay this off right away but long term, this may come to bite me. It’s been years since I got a new card; normally it’s because of a deal I can’t pass up. But, I don’t remember ever seeing this kind of backsplash.
I used there CC to get the 10%. Ordered item that was supposed to arrive within 2x weeks. Received bill for full amount that month and paid off. 6x months later item still has not shipped.
The last thing I need is another credit card, but I got suckered at the counter. She said that I would get a 5% off on all future purchases. I thought that meant at the register, like what Lowes does. I would never have taken that hard hit on the credit inquiry if I knew I’d have to play around with reward points and other crap, that I don’t care to understand.
good job on investing the card more btw i thought that interest rate was illegal i5 seems their gig is to target those at the registers when most of us are not going to stand there and read through all of the bs they make it a impulse thing for obvious reasons my first wife and I fell victims to a similar scam when we first went out to buy expensive furniture and electronics we were in one early 20s and it took us years to get away from those crooks
Thank you for the valuable information.
I might get it to purchase a few large exclusionary
items for the 10% and will pay it off when the bill comes in. MAYBE
Please be careful
My account told me many years ago that credit cards are like loan sharking. She said that that 20 to 30 percent is compounded monthly those kind of rates are insane and should be stopped by the government. With the legislators being bought and paid for by banks and big business, that is highly unlikely. The only thing law makers have done is prevent you from bankrupting your credit card debt. Pay your card off monthly. Deadbeat is the term they have to describe someone who pays the entire amount monthly.
So let’s say I apply for the card get approved and I purchase about $495 worth of tools/toolbox and I choose the 0% interest option. Does that mean I’ll have 6 months of no interest paying about $82.50 a month?
I got one which makes the 3rd credit card I own. I shop there a lot and used the 10% in addition to the 20% coupon to buy there 20in drill press for 450 and change out the door. Regular price was 599.00 plus tax but I pay any balance on my cards as soon as they post to the account. I do not apply for credit on things but once every 3-5 years to avoid the inquiries. I pay most of my bills with credit cards to avoid identity theft. If one can control their spending and know how to use it to their advantage there are benefits but I will say a lot if not most people get sucked in and problems start.
Those of you who heard of Dave Ramsey….store credit cards are the worst kinds of cards you can get into. Stay with major credit cards and your APR will lower as you make payments on time and stay in the realm of 15% of your credit limit. Why 15%, that’s why it is called a limit and how you manage your card and ‘live within your means’.
So go buy something the first month and get 10% off. Pay it off the second month and charge something over $299 and get 0% interest. Am I right?
Don’t know why but opened a harbor freight card and it murdered my credit somehow. I opened one and bought a tool box with 0% apr and it knocked my credit down 29 points immediately from excellent to good according to my credit karma. I don’t know what they did or how they filed the purchase. My first payment was still not due for another 3 weeks.
Thank god we dont need to watch the over a minute of that cheesy style rock auto commercial that hf made
