Applicants must be a citizen of India.

- Applicants must have attained the age of 21 years.
- Upper age limit for the IPS exam will be 32 years.

UPSC Educational Qualification Criteria for IPS
Applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university to take the UPSC exam.
Those who are appearing in final year exams of the qualifying exam (bachelor’s degree) and are awaiting results can apply.
